In recognition of her researches identifying sources of resistance in various food and fiber crops which are helping the plant breeders in their hybridization work and for her wholistic view of the pest problem thereby creating awareness and offering solutions. Her active participation in the breeding of corn, web grain, information pills legume, clinic and cotton varieties resistant to insect pests has been recognized and incorporated in various varietal improvement program of crops such as rice, corn, cotton, mungbean, soybean, cowpea, peanut and wheat in the country; thereby helping provide Filipino farmers with quality seeds that require less pest control inputs hence making farming profitable and sustainable.
