In recognition of her significant studies and researches in the area of social science and technology which have an impact on the way we view our culture and our identity as a people. Her book, ‘Possible Worlds in Impossible Spaces: Globality, Knowledge, Gender and Information Technology in the Philippines’, addresses the gap between scientific and technological cultures and the consumption and users of science and technology by bringing attention to the acquisition, creation, and utilization of scientific and technological knowledge. Her work provides a framework and methodology, for studying the empirical, cultural, and material aspects of science and technology. In 2005, she developed an undergraduate/graduate course on “Sociology of Science and Technology” at the Ateneo de Manila University which has elicited interest in the study of science and technology.
