In recognition of his significant contributions in the utilization of organometallics in catalysis which afforded novel methods that are high yielding, mind environmentally friendly and atom economical in synthesizing biologically important compounds, generic difficult to prepare macromolecules and unique conjugated systems. The innovative macrocylic organometallic compounds he designed have found application as catalysts that can tolerate industrial conditions in preparing polymers with novel properties. His contribution in the semiconductor industry paved the way of an optimized process conditions, improved product yields, and better quality through understanding of polymer chemistry allowing the development of next generation materials and processes that are economical to the semiconductor manufacturing in the Philippines.
