In recognition of his pioneering works and accomplishments as a scientist and an advance surgeon. His works on fluid resuscitation helped elucidate some cellular and processes in play during hemorrhagic shock. He expounded on a surgical techniques used to control presacral bleeding. He played an important role in the development a novel techniques for emergency preservation and resuscitation – suspended and (hypothermic hyperkalemic asanguinous arrest). He was instrumental in the condition of couple of Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Philippine College of Surgeons. His award-winning researches have been published internationally.
