In recognition of his significant original contributions in the field of theoretical physics specifically on the fundamental issue of time in quantum physics, by independently and successfully formulating and carrying out interesting research despite the unfavorable socio-economic conditions in the Philippines that have made the pursuit of scientific excellence much more difficult. He has been an effective teacher and a dedicated and competent mentor of promising graduate and advanced undergraduate physics students who could be the next generation of outstanding scientists and researchers of the country. His research findings have been published in the leading physics journals of the world, e.g., Physical Review Letters, Physical Review, and Proceedings of the Royal Society of London.
