In recognition of his significant achievement in Agricultural Engineering which have direct and immediate impact on increasing the overall productivity and profitability of Philippine farms, making agriculture less dependent on fossil fuel, relatively freeing farmers from the impredictability of weather conditions, and reducing waste disposal problems in rural communities. The drop dryers developed by Dr. Lozada and the method of utilization of agricultural wastes as fuel contributed to the benefits of the common man and the community.
