In recognition for her significant contribution to forensic DNA typing technology in the Philippines. She has been involved in research studies that validated analytical procedures for handling different types of biological materials for forensic application; developed a system for the collection, handling and analysis of evidence, particularly in sexual assault cases; and generated and expanded the reference genetic databases of the Philippine population. All these have proved very useful in the statistical analysis of matching DNA sample. Her active involvement in the promotion and dissemination of DNA typing technology in the country through lectures and training programs attest to her deep commitment to this field, generating public’s trust in forensic DNA typing technology.
