In recognition of his significant contributions to the field of obstetrics and gynecology that have resulted in the improvement of the quality of life as well as in decreasing the treatment costs for ovarian cancer patients. His pioneering researches on new chemotherapeutic regimens are now used as part of the clinical practice guidelines references of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of the Philippines. His work on Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) in Gynecologic Oncology such as triple incision technique for vulvar cancer and the radical vaginal hysterectomy with extra-peritoneal lymphadenectomy for cervical cancer has decreased the length of hospital stay, and the number of days patients have to be retained with in-dwelling catheters and the number of surgical site infections, and has decreased the post-operative pain the patient experiences.
