In recognition of his significant contribution to public health services particularly his involvement in research activities on epidemic, communicable diseases and community health care. The investigation of Red Tide and paralytic poisoning in 1988 has led to the formation of the new National Red Tide Program. Studies on AIDS helped define the National AIDS Control Program.
