In recognition of her pioneering efforts in the field of clinical epidemiology, leading to the establishment of a center for scientific research, design and measurement – the UP-PGH Clinical Epidemiology Unit- and her valuable contribution to the control of major health problems in the country, through her studies on hepatitis B epidemiology and immunization, diarrheal diseases, acute respiratory infections and antibiotic usage and surveillance.
